'Paan', 'mawa' to be banned in BMC

Mumbai, Nov 16 (UNI) In two weeks time, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation will ban chewing of ''paan'' and ''mawa'' in the BMC offices.

Speaking to reporters today, Municipal Commissioner Jairaj Phatak said, ''We will draft a policy in two weeks time and will ban the chewing of 'paan' and 'mawa' in the BMC head-quarters and the ward offices in the city.'' The BMC will put up notices against ''paan'' and ''mawa'' chewing at various points in the BMC offices.
