No proposal to open new junior colleges in AP: Minister
Hyderabad, Nov 16 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Higher Education Minister D Srinivas today told the State Legislative Council that presently there was no proposal to open new junior colleges in the State.
Replying to a question raised by B Kamalaker Rao (Cong), the Minister said the government was permitting establishment of private unaided junior colleges in urban areas and mandals, having a minimum SSC passout of 220.
He denied the Opposition charge that the government was closing down government-run junior colleges, citing inadequate student strength.
