Meghalaya's vision to become self-sustained: Lapang
Shillong, Nov 16 (UNI) Meghalaya Chief Minister D D Lapang has said the state now boasts of some significant achievements in the field of agriculture, horticulture, tourism and power generation.
Official sources quoting Mr Lapang, who made the statement at the 27th India-International Trade Fair (IITF) in New Delhi on Wednesday, said the Chief Minister said the state's vision was to become self-sufficient and at par with the other progressive states.
Mr Lapang also informed that Meghalaya grabbed the first position in attracting investment for industrial development with the state's investment friendly policy and Centre's support.
Mr Lapang also highlighted the state's huge potential in tourism, horticulture, food processing, medium and large scale industries, mineral resources, information technology and power sector.
With the status of achieving ''Focus State'' at the IITF, Mr Lapang also drew the attention of investors to this peaceful state.
