Kolkata, Nov 16 (UNI) Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee today called for setting up of an anti-CPI(M) secular front in West Bengal as an alternative to the ruling Left Front.

" I call upon all secular and democratic forces to come together to form an anti-CPI(M) front. The non-Left partners within the Left Front are also welcome, " he said at a press conference.

While declaring that she would continue her movement for removal of the Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee Government, Ms Banerjee said she would meet Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi at the Raj Bhavan tomorrow to place the demand.

" The state Government has no moral, constitutional and political right to continue in power. This Government should be immediately sacked to protect democracy, " she said while hailing Calcutta High Court judgement that denounced the March 14 firing in Nandigram and directed the Government to give bigger compensation to the victims.

The Trinamool leader also appealed to the Centre to play its role and take proper action against the 'state terrorism' in Nandigram and the alleged lawlessness in the state.

" If there is any objection to a particular party leading the proposed front, then I will accept any other party's leadership, " she said.

To a question, whether the proposed front would include the BJP, the Trinamool Congress ally in the National Democractic Alliance (NDA), Ms Banerjee said, " I said it should be secular. " Ms Banerjee announced a charter of programmes, including a procession from Singur to Nandigram on December two and block and district level rallies, to highlight the Nandigram incident.
