About 10 lakh pilgrims are expected to take a holy dip in the holy 'sarovars' on the day of 'Kartik Purnima'.
A lagre number of Hindu and Sikh pilgrims from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand come here every year to have a holy dip in the Kapal Mochan, Rin Mochan and Surajkund 'sarovars' to attain 'Moksha' (salvation).
According to 'Puranas', Kapal Mochan Dham relieves the sins of all the three eras--Satyug, Dwapar and Kaliyuga. It is believed that by having the bath in the Sarovar, the sins like 'Braham Hatya' is also washed away.
District Yamunanagar is situated in the area where Yamuna river enters the plains from the Shivalik Range of lower Himalayas. It is covered by dense forest of Kalesar and holy river Saraswati criss-croses it from Adi-Badri and flows towords Kurukshetra and Pehowa.
Yamunanagar is surrounded by Uttar Pardesh and Himachal Pradesh. The district has many important religious and historically important places.
