Deadline for filing house deeds fixed

Chandigarh, Nov 16 (UNI) The Haryana Town and Country Planning Department has issued instructions to the Colonisers and Owners of dwelling units, flats, apartment in Group-Housing, commercial and IT licensed colonies to file deed of declaration and get the deed of Apartment executed by November 28 and December 14 respectively.

Stating this here today, a official spokesman said that as per Haryana Apartment Ownership Act, 1983, it was mandatory for Colonizers, who had obtained part completion rtificate/occupation certificates under the prescribed Act/Rules to ensure that the deed of declaration was filed positively by November 28, 2007.

Similarly flat owners in the licensed areas, where part completion certificate/occupation certificate had been granted, were advised to get the deed of Apartment executed, by paying stamp duty as per law, by December 14.

He said that for the purpose of transfer of ownership of an individual apartments in a Group Housing Colony, Integrated Commercial Complexes, Cyber Park and Cyber City for which licenses were issued under the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act, 1975 (Act No. 8 of 1975), the colonisers of such properties/buildings should duly execute and get registered a deed of declaration within a period of 90-days after obtaining part completion/completion certificates.

He said that failure to comply with was punishable with imprisonment of either description for a term, which might be extended upto three years and should also be liable to pay a fine of Rs 50,000 and Rs 10,000 for each day for continuing offence.

Various individual notices had been given to the colonisers but the legal provisions of the above said Act were not being complied with by most of the colonizers, he added.
