Cong's Sardinha takes oath as LS member

New Delhi, Nov 15 (UNI) Mr Francisco Sardinha, who won the recent byelection from Marmugao, Goa, on a Congress ticket, took oath as a member of the Lok Sabha today.

The oath was administerd to him by Secretary General P D T Achary.

Mr Sardinha had defeated his nearest rival Wilfred Mesquita of the BJP by a margin of 40,000 votes in the November 3 bypoll.

The seat had fallen vacant after Congress member Churchill Alemao resigned on May 8 to join state politics.
