Agri sector development is Kalam's mantra for UP

Lucknow, Nov 16 (UNI) Former President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam tonight said the agriculture sector in Uttar Pradesh should be developed to enable the common man reap the benefits of development.

Addressing a function organised by Lucknow Management Association (LMA) here, Dr Kalam said we need to bring about development in the rural hinterland.

''Organisations like LMA can also take up projects in the agriculture sector for a speedy development.'' He pointed out that food processing can help farmers earn better livelihood from their agriculture produce.

The former president said most of his facts were based on the information available on the internet.

He, however, lamented that the websites of the UP government were not updated regularly.

Giving the examples of Mahatama Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and Vikram Sarabhai, the Missile Man said a good leader should be the one, who could touch the lives of many.
