Hyderabad, Nov 16 (UNI) Thirteen members of the main Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) were today suspended from the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council for the question hour for stalling the House proceedings.

The trouble started as soon as the House assembled for the day when Council Chairman A Chakrapani disallowed the adjournment motion given notice of by the TDP to discuss the issue of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy.

On the suggestion of the other Opposition members, the Chairman agreed to discuss the matter with the floor leaders of all legislature parties in his chamber after Question Hour.

However, the TDP members disrupted the House proceedings and refused to pay heed to the Chairman's plea to allow the House to take up regular business and bring the issue of hike in MSP for paddy for discussion in some other form later.

Following this, the Chairman named the TDP members and Legislative Affairs Minister K Rosaiah moved a resolution seeking their suspension, which was adopted by the House. The members then left the House, raising slogans against the Government.

Later, the House took up Question Hour after a lapse of 45 minutes.

When the House re-assembled after tea break, the other Opposition members urged the Chairman to revoke the suspension of the TDP members to discuss the Bills to be introduced.

At this, Mr Rosaiah said it was not their intention to suspend the Opposition members and added that the members had no objection if the Chairman revoked his decision.

Responding to the suggestion of the members, the Chairman revoked the suspension of the TDP members. However, the TDP members did not turn up for the discussion on the Bills.
