Woman killed as drunk DAP constable's vehicle hits rickshaw

New Delhi, Nov 15 (UNI) A woman was killed when a drunk Delhi Armed Police constable hit his jeep against a rickshaw she was riding on near Vikaspuri Police Lines in west Delhi.

The constable, Keshraj, struck the jeep he was driving against the rickshaw yesterday night, which was being driven by a 13-year-old. At the time of the accident, the boy's aunty, Akash Devi, was riding pillion and she suffered serious injuries in the process.

Soon after, people gathered in large numbers and miffed over the accident gave Keshraj a sound thrashing.

Later, three of them were taken to Deen Dayal Upadhaya hospital, where the woman succumbed to her injuries.

The police have arrested the constable under sections 279 and 304(A) of the Indian Penal Code and his medical report revealed that he was in an inebriated condition at the time of the accident.
