UK urges Iran to "come clean" on nuclear programme

LONDON, Nov 15 (Reuters) Britain urged Iran to ''come clean'' about its nuclear programme today and repeated a threat to pursue further UN and European Union sanctions.

Responding to a United Nations report on Iranian nuclear activity, Britain's Foreign Office said: ''If Iran wants to restore trust in its programme it must come clean on all outstanding issues without delay.'' It said it would study the report carefully. ''However ... if (EU foreign policy chief) Javier Solana's talks with the Iranians do not show a positive outcome ... we will pursue further Security Council and EU sanctions.'' REUTERS PY HT2252
