Train catches fire at Porbandar station
Porbandar, Nov 15 (UNI) A fire broke out in the goods coach of a Motihari-Porbandar Express train, minutes after it arrived at Porbandar railway station here last night, Railway sources said.
No one was injured in the incident.
Railway authorities had immediately detached the goods coach from other passenger coaches. Fire tenders were pressed into service which exinguished the fire within half-an-hour. The passengers were frightened and ran out in panic when they heard big explosion from the burning coach.
Though the actual cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, sources say that three chemical barrels were in the goods coach which apparently leaked and burst into flames.
