Traffic to be hit in city during Chhath Pooja

New Delhi, Nov 15(UNI) Movement of traffic will be affected and gridlocks are expected in the capital during the Chhath Pooja to be celebrated tomorrow and a day after.

A large number of people will congregate at all major ghats of the Yamuna river where traditional pooja will be performed during sunset tomorrow and sunrise a day after.

There will be a heavy flow of traffic on all Yamuna bridges starting from Wazirabad, ISBT, Old Yamuna ITO, Nizammudin and Kalindi.

NH-I will be affected at Mukarba, Bhalswa, Mukundpur, Burari, Jagatpur, Wazirabad, Chandgi Ram Akhara. NH-2 will be hit between Rajghat and Ashram Chowk and up to Badarpur Border.

Delhi Traffic Police has cautioned people against using roads near major ghats between 1400 hrs tomorrow and 1000 hrs on Saturday.

The police also asked city commuters to go in for public transport, especially metro, and car pooling.
