Three minors raped, one killed

Gangtok, Nov 15 (UNI) About three minors have been raped, of which one was killed, in different parts of rurl Sikkim in the past one week, Police said today.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested yesterday from Kazitar village in south Sikkim on charges of rape.

The accused Ujjal Darjee had raped a seven-year-old girl of the same village last evening, the police said adding that the victim had been sent for medical examination to South Sikkim district hospital.

A case under section 376 has been registered against the accused.

The police said another accused Chandan Gurung(20) was apprehended by West Sikkim police authorities yesterday on charges of rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl at Singyan-Pelling in West Sikkim.

The body of the victim was recovered on November 13, two days after she went missing.

The accused has confessed the crime, the police said.

In another incident, one Bhopal Tamang of Temi, South Sikkim has been arrested on charges of raping a 14-year-old girl of the same village on November nine.
