SUCI protests against govt policy on SEZs

Bangalore, Nov 15 (UNI) Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) today organised a rally of peasants, workers, women and youth to protest against the Centre's policy on Special Economic Zones (SEZs).

People from different walks of life, representing 15 districts participated in the protest march.

SUCI State Secretary K Radhakrishna said that due to the SEZ policy, poor people lost their lives in Kalinga Nagar in Orissa and Nandigram in West Bengal. Fertile lands near cities were being sought by the industrialists for real estate and not to provide jobs to the poor youth, he alleged.
