Protesting scribes rounded up in Kathmandu
Kathmandu, Nov 15 (UNI) Police today rounded up over two dozen journalists staging a sit-in protest dharna at Singhdurbar, central secretariat demanding action against Maoists cadres, who killed journalist Birendra Sah last month in Bara district in southern Nepal.
The sit in protest was organised by Federation of Nepalese Journalists(FNJ), Kathmandu chapter.
A parliamentary committee concluded that journalist Sah was killed after abduction by the local Maoists.
The journalists have also been demanding to make public the whereabouts of the Mahendranagar-based journalist Prakash Thakuri, who was abducted by an unknown group.
National and international journalists groups, human rights organisations and political parties have condemned the killing of journalist.
