Parliament to re-commence sitting on November 19

New Delhi, Nov 15 (UNI) Parliament will have an extended four-day weekend break till November 19 for observing Chhat Pooja, a major festival for the people of Bihar, Jharkhand and Eastern Uttar Pradesh.

A decision to this effect was taken at the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the Lok Sabha, BJP Parliamentary Party Spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra told reporters.

He said Chhat Pooja was a grand event not just in Bihar and Jharkhand but other places as well and his party supported the break for observing fast and other entailing rituals in the Sun worship.
