Pakistani Senate chairman appointed caretaker PM
ISLAMBAD, Nov 15 (Reuters) Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf appointed the chairman of the Senate (Upper House) as caretaker prime minister today to oversee a general election the opposition says it doubts will be free and fair.
Senate chairman Mohammadmian Soomro will head a caretaker line-up that will be sworn in tomorrow, said Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, a close Musharraf ally.
