Orissa launches Madhubabu Pension Scheme

Bhubaneswar, Nov 15 (UNI) Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today named the state pension scheme as ''Madhu Babu Pension Yojana'' and decided to provide pension to an additional three lakh people in the state from January 2008.

A high level meeting chaired by Mr Patnaik, here decided to name the pension provided for old age, widows and handicapped people as ''Madhu Babu Pension Yojana''.

The state government was presently providing pension to nearly six lakh old age people, widows and handicapped people living below the poverty line at the rate of Rs 200 per month.
