Nepal extends special security to Tarai

The
government
intends
to
provide
special
security
to
political
party
leaders
and
government
employees
working
in
the
troubled
tarai
regions
of
the
Himalayan
country.
The decision was taken after a meeting of representatives of various political parties and government employees' unions, Tuesday. said a Home Ministry press statement.
Courts, Land Revenue and Land Reform offices which are targetted by the extreamists have been asked to prepare special security arangements.
The statement said the ministry has directed the district administrations in tarai districts to request government employees, political party leaders and activists to stay within a certain security periphery.
According to the statement, the Home Ministry has also decided to take stringent action against those involved in killing and threatening government employees and ordinary public. Likewise, the Ministry also decided to increase police patrolling and further enhance coordination among security units in the districts, reported Kantipur.
The meeting decided to come down heavily on those posing threat to territorial integrity and national sovereignty of Nepal.
