Shimla, Nov 15 (UNI) The BSP today said it would grant district status to Rohru constituency and take steps to provide employment opportunities to over 15 lakh unemployed youth in the state if the party was voted to power.

Addressing a public meeting at Chirgaon, about 130 km from here, BSP state convenor Vijai Singh Mankotia said the party had decided to field Randhir Ranta from this constituency, represented in the Assembly by state Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.

He said the BSP would also undertake the work of boring a tunnel from Rohru to Dodra Kawar, one of the most remotest places of Shimla district.

Accusing both the Congress and the BJP of misleading the common man, he said they had failed to live up to the expectations of the public.

Addressing the public on the occasion, party general secretary Manjit Singh Manhera claimed that the party was winning out of a total of three tribal seats that went to the polls in the first phase yesterday.

He said while the Congress and the BJP would win nine seats each, the BSP would register victories in the remaining 50 constituencies to form the next state government.
