Japan's Nikkei opens up 0.2 pct, Sony climbs

TOKYO, Nov 15 (Reuters) The Nikkei average opened up 0.2 percent on Thursday, extending its gains made the previous session as blue-chip stocks such as Sony Corp rose despite an overnight fall on Wall Street.

By 0001 GMT, the Nikkei average was up 36.79 points to 15,536.35. The broader TOPIX index gained 0.3 percent to 1,502.65.
