Gujarat NCP general secretary Pathan quits party

Ahmedabad, Nov 15 (UNI) Gujarat NCP has received a jolt ahead of the assembly elections in the state with one of its general secretaries, Gajjukhan Pathan, quitting the party.

Mr Pathan quit, charging the party high command with meting but injustice to the minorities and scheduled castes.

Mr Pathan told UNI here today that he had submitted his resignation to party chief Sharad Pawar yesterday.

''Minorties and SCs have contributed largely to the party's success, yet their role has not been appreciated by it,'' he said.
