Government to encourage farmers to grow paddy

New Delhi, Nov 15 (UNI) To encourage farmers to grow more paddy and also contribute more for the central pool, the Government has decided to give an additional Rs 50 per quintal for the Kharif Marketing Season (KMS) 2007-08.

The benefit of grant of incentive on paddy in addition to MSP for KMS 2007-08 will enourage farmers to grow more paddy, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Rajan Dasmunsi today said after the meeting of the Cabinet Commitee on Economic Affairs (CCEA).
