Franklin Templeton launches Asian equity fund

Mumbai, Nov 15 (UNI) Franklin Templeton Investment (FTI), a leading fund house, today announced the launch of a new open-end equity fund called Franklin Asian Equity Fund (FAEF).

The Fund will be invested in companies in the Asian region, excluding Japan, as well as Asian companies across market capitalisation ranges. The new fund offer will be open for subscription between November 19 to December 18 and the units will be available at Rs 10 per unit, the fund house said.

Announcing the launch, FTI (India) President Vivek Kudva said that the Fund will not only help Indian investors in improving the diversification of their portfolio but also have a long term return potential similar to that of the Indian market.

''The portfolio construction will be blostered by our local investment teams in India, Korea and China,'' Mr Kudva added.
