AMR Agro gains Sangam Coop Sugar factory

Hyderabad, Nov 15: AMR Agro Farms Limited, a bio-fuel and plantation company, has acquired Sangam Cooperative Sugar factory at Belgam district in Karnataka.

AMR Agro Farms CEO S Vijay, in a release, said the company had acquired the factory on lease for 30 years on Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.

The company was also planning to invest Rs 200 crore in the factory. The AMR Group was mulling to set up a sugar unit with a captive power capacity of 30 to 32 MW in the next two years, he added.
