Two Pak militants of LeT killed in Poonch

Jammu, Nov 14 (UNI) Two Pakistani militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit were killed by security forces in an encounter at the western Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir early today, official spokesman said.

Acting on a tip-off, troops of 40 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and police launched a search operation at Sedhi Chochana Mandi village in Poonch and shot dead two foreign militants after a fierce gun battle, Defence spokesman Lt Col S D Goswami said.

The militants, who had taken shelter in a hideout, tried to give the slip to the troops last midnight but were chased and gunned down early today, the spokesman said.

They were identified as Abu Qasim and Abu Haider, resident of Pakistan.

Two AK rifles, four AK magazines, 120 AK rounds, one mobile, a wireless set, three grenades, two pouches were among recoveries from the encounter site, the spokesman added.
