SC issued nonbailable warrant agst former Governor's son

New Delhi, Nov 14 (UNI) The Supreme Court has issued a Non-bailable warrant against Ranjit Malhotra, son of former Punjab Governor Surendra Nath, for not complying with the orders of the court for returning the funds collected fraudulently from dealers, distributors, and consumers for supply of gas all over india.

A bench, comprising Justices G P Mathur and V S Sirpurkar, issued the warrant on Nov 12, after it was brought to the notice of the court that Ranjit Malhotra has not complied with the orders of the court dated April 4, 2005 directing him to return over Rs 25 lakhs to the 15 petitioners namely Handigas distributors, dealers, consumers association and others.

Ranjit Malhotra is the Managing Director of Olympia Gases Private Limited.

The petitioner had also demanded a CBI inquiry against respondent number 9 to 12. But the request was declined by the apex court and instead directions were issued to the respondent to return the money of the petitioner which is Rs 25,81,879.
