Police arrest 2 with arms and ammunition

Kohima, Nov 14: Kohima police arrested two persons, at the police check post at Khuzama on the outskirts of Kohima town, about 17 kms from the main town, for possessing arms and ammunition.

Official sources said here today that acting on a tip-off, police nabbed the miscreants, both residents of Manipur, and seized a 303 Rifle, along with 25 live cartridges, from their possession yesterday.

In another incident, police recovered about 150 kgs contraband from a Dimapur-bound private car, travelling from Mao, at the Phesama police check post and arrested the driver and an occupant.

Both the arrested were residents of Dimapur, the sources added.
