Kathmandu, Nov 14 (UNI) The seven parties are attempting to forge an agreement before the winter session of the interim parliament starts on November 19 in Nepal, Maoist Chairman Prachanda has said.

Speaking at a press conference in Dang this morning, he admitted that although it was essential to reach an agreement to end the political stalemate, he did not see any such possibility till date.

''If the parties failed to forge an agreement within the next few days, the Constituent Assembly would fall in a trap. As the peace process was the foundation of the CA election, the poll would be possible only after fortifying the foundation,'' the Maoist supremo said.

He also charged that the elections were getting uncertain since the Nepali Congress was not paying attention to the entire peace process.

About the proclamation of republic, he said in the present context, the Maoists want a republic prior to the election.
