Hyderabad, Nov 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Mines and Geology P Sabitha Reddy said the Obulapuram Mining Corporation in Obulapuram in Ananthapur district was not resorting to any illegal mining.

Replying to a question raised by P Raghunatha Reddy and others in the Council, she denied the charge of the opposition that the company was siphoning of crores of public money in Anantapur by illegally mining in the area.

Ms Sabitha said there was no possibility to resort to illegal mining other than the area allocated to them in view of the boundaries on all the four sides. There were some other companies doing mining in the areas adjacent to the OMC Company and it was very difficult to enter into other areas, she added.

Some Congress members informed the Chairman that it was not fair on the part of the members to discuss the matter when a case was pending in the court on the company.

When an Opposition member instead of asking supplementary question, continued to make allegations against the Government and on the company, the Chairman A Chakrapani several times advised him to stick to his question and not to waste the precious time of the House and did not allow him to continue his speech. However, the member protested for disallowing him to speak on the subject and staged a walk out.
