Lawyers demand security cover for prosecutors

Patna, Nov 14 (UNI) The lawyers here today demanded adequate security cover to the public prosecutors and additional public prosecutors who were conducting the cases against hardcore criminals.

In an extra ordinary meeting held in district bar association of Patna under the chairmanship of Ashok Kumar Sinha, the lawyers also demanded Rs 25 lakhs as ex-gratia to the dependent and a government job to son of the slained additional public prosecutor of Begusaria district court Ram Naresh Sharma who was gunned down by unidentified criminals few days back.

The lawyers of Patna district bar association today abstained from their court work in the second half and also decided to do the same tomorrow as per the decision of the state bar council.

The lawyers also requested the state bar council to take a decision that no lawyer would defend the accused in the murder case of slained additional public prosecutor Mr Sharma.Meanwhile, Bihar Youva Adhibakta Kalyan Samiti also condemned the murder of Mr Sharma.
