Kerala: Tension prevails in Kannur
Kannur, Nov 14: Tension prevailed in Kadavathur in Pannur near here following a clash between CPI(M) and the Indian Union Muslim League(IUML) activists today.
The situation was now under control and the police had to fire in air to disburse the activists, sources said and added that senior police officials were camping in the place.
The offices of the CPI(M) and the IUML were destroyed in the clashes, police said.
Meanwhile, a group of Haj Pilgrims were attacked by miscreants yesterday at Kadavathur. The IUML alleged that the CPI(M) activists were behind the attack. However, the CPI(M) denied the allegations and said the attack was masterminded by people with vested interests.
