Dist Cong Committee burns Vishnu Prasad's effigy

Tiruchirapalli, Nov 14 (UNI) Members of the Tiruchirapalli South District Congress Committee, led by its State Executive Committee Member Puliyur A Nagarajan today burnt an effigy of former Tamil Nadu Youth Congress President Vishnu Prasad, MLA, in front of the party headquarters here.

The agitating Congress partymen, supporters of senior Congress leader and Union Minister of State for Statistics and Programme Implementation G K Vasan, were protesting against Mr Prasad's false charges against Mr Vasan, in connection with the attack on Tamil Nadu Youth Congress President Mayura Jayakumar at party headquarters in Chennai on November 11.

The agitators also raised slogans against Mr Prasad and demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits who attacked Mr Jayakumar.
