Class 8th girl killed in Jammu road accident

Jammu, Nov 14 (UNI) A fourteen-year-old karate gold medallist was killed after being hit by a speeding two-wheeler while she was returning to her home after attending a Children's Day function in the city outskirts here.

Sources said that girl identified as Asha Devi (14) daughter of Girdhari Lal, resident of Bhalwal was a student of Government Middle School, Bhalwal.

Accompanied by her classmates and a teacher, the girl was dropped at Bhalwal in the city outskirts in the afternoon, sources told UNI asserting that she was hit by a speedy motor bike from behind and the girl died on the spot.

Around 40,000 students from different schools and institutions both government and private, participated in the function organised here at Maulana Azad Stadium this morning.
