Akola, Nov 14 (UNI) An anonymous call saying a bomb had been planted at the new bus stand of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) here proved to be a hoax after a thorough search today.
ST traffic controller Savita Subash Nagwanshi this morning received an anonymous call saying that a bomb has been planted in the premises of the bus stand. She immediately informed the senior officials who, as a precautionary measure, evacuated waiting passengers at the bus stand. A dog squad and a bomb detection and disposal squad from Amravati arrived here at noon today, who conducted a thorough search of the premises but they found no explosive material.
The ST bus operations were finally restored at around 1600 hrs, police said.
