AP Govt takes up Indira Prabha scheme for land development

Hyderabad, Nov 14 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government has taken up the Indira Prabha Scheme for developing land comprehensively to bring it under cultivation, Rural Development Miniser G Chinna Reddy told the Legislative Council today.

Replying to a question raised by CPI(M) leader P Nageswar Rao, he said the State Government had allocated Rs 276.02 crore under this scheme and Rs 236.84 crore had been spent.

He said the area covered under the scheme was 2.94 lakh acres and lands in all the districts would be covered by this scheme, for which the Government proposed to spend Rs 500 crore in five years.
