Two more castes likely to be declared extremely backward in Bihar

Patna, Nov 13 (UNI) The Bihar State Backward Commission (BSBC) today directed all the District Magistrates to send report within a week on the social, educational and economic status of Patwa and Barhai Communities.

Mr Pramod Chandrawanshi, a member of the BSBC, told newsmen here that the condition of these castes were more or less similar to that of extremely bacward classes in the state and steps would be initiated to place them in this category after receipt of the report.

'' Two committees, constituted in this connection, have already visited nine districts and held discussion with concerned officials about the status of these two castes, '' he said.
