Twelve junior colleges derecognised in AP

Hyderabad, Nov 13 (UNI) The Board of Intermediate Education has derecognised 12 private junior colleges in connection with the scam in distribution of Integrated Tribal Development Agency(ITDA) scholarship to tribal students in West Godavari district, Higher Education Minister D Srinivas told the Andhra Pradesh Assembly today.

Replying to Congress MLA D Rajasekhar alias Nehru, Mr Srinivas said the board took the decision based on the report of the District Collector and instructions from the Social Welfare department.

The Board Secretary had since directed the Regional Inspection Officer to re-enquire into the matter on a representation from the managements of private junior colleges concerned, he added.
