Chandigarh, Nov 13 (UNI) Chandigarh Administrator General (Retd,) S F Rodrigues today asked the PGI and two other Government hospitals in the city to restructure their trauma services so as to provide quality service to all patients.

In a high level meeting attended by Special Secretary Health, Mrs Raji P Shrivastava, Health Services Director Dr Manjit Singh Bains, and senior doctors from PGI and Government Medical College Hospital, General Rodrigues asked them to initiate firm steps within a week to ensure that their response to emergency situations is rapid and co-ordinated.

The aim is that trauma patients must have immediate access to specialised services in every medical discipline.

General Rodrigues asked the doctors to rationalise streamlining of emergency services, right from the site of an accident to the time, the victim was brought to the hospital.

He asked the hospitals to explore the possibility of medical insurance cover for all the citizens of Chandigarh.
