RBI to issue new Rs 10 notes

New Delhi, Nov 13: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI )will soon issue Rs 10 denominations notes with new security features in Mahatma Gandhi series.

''The new banknotes, which has the letter 'M' inset in both numbering panels, will bear signature of Governor Y V Reddy,'' said an official statement.

Except for the change in the inset letter, other features are similar in all respects to the notes issued in this series on April 27 last year, it added.

All notes in this denomination issued by the central bank in the past will continue to be legal tender.
