Kolkata, Nov 13 (UNI) All India Minority Forum today demanded imposition of President rule in West Bengal and a CBI probe into clashes and killings during alleged recapture of some villages at Nandigram last week.

Forum president Idris Ali, in a statement tonight, demanded that truth must be revealed why clashes occurred between CPI(M) and Bhumi Uchched Pratirodh Committee backed by Trinamool Congress at Nandigram and the CBI should be given the charge to investigate the matter so that culprits could be booked.

The Forum also demanded imposition of President rule in West Bengal as the government failed to restore peace in violence-torn Nandigram for many months. Mr Ali said the Forum wanted that the resident of the area must return home and live peacefully.

The Forum demanded compensation of Rs 10 lakh for next of kin of those killed and Rs 5 lakh for those injured in violence in the villages of East Medinipur.
