Major police reshuffle in J'khand

Ranchi, Nov 13 (UNI) The Jharkhand government carried out a major reshuffle in police transferring four IPS officers and 11 other Superintendent of Police of state police service today.

Besides, 28 DSP rank officers were also transferred and posted at different district headquarters in the state.

The police reshuffle assumed significance in the wake of spurt in naxalite strikes in the state recently.

The Chilkhari massacre on October 27 that claimed 20 lines including former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi's son Anup, shook the state government forcing the home department to chalk out a pro-active strategy to counter insurgency.

Among some important postings SP (crime) in the state capital Murarilal Meena was sent to insurgency-hit Giridih while SP (special branch) Deepak Kumar Verma, Ranchi, would now take charge in Palamu.

SP (in-charge) in Garwah Md Nehal would take charge as SP (rural) here.

SP (in-charge) at Simdega Martin Paresh Lakra has been at the state capital as SP( crime, investigation).
