Legislature secretariat starts functioning

Nagpur, Nov 12: The legislature secretariat for the forthcoming winter session of the two houses of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council started functioning here today.

The winter session of the state legislature gets underway at Vidhan Bhavan from November 19, about two weeks in advance, because of the assembly elections in Gujarat and other states of the country.

The preparations for the session are in the last stages and besides Vidhan Bhavan, facilities at Ravi Bhavan and Nag Bhavan -- which houses the cabinet ministers and ministers of state respectively and MLA Hostel are also being well taken care of.

Files and all other relevant material have been moved to Vidhan Bhavan. The officials have started descending here and making preparations for the session. A team of about 350 officials, employees and others arrived here for the session.
