HC stays Ruhelkhand varsity VC's arrest

Allahabad, Nov 13 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court has stayed the arrest of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Ruhelkhand University Vice Chancellor (VC) Om Prakash Yadav, his wife Sarla Yadav and daughter Shikhi Yadav, in connection with a murder case.

The order was passed by a division bench conprising Justices Yatindra Singh and Vineet Saran on a writ petition filed by the VC and two others.

The court further directed the Uttar Pradesh government to file a counter affidavit in the case.

On October 31, Om Prasash his and kin were booked under section 302, 201 and 120 (B) of IPC for murdering the son of their relative.
