Cyclone warning in tsunami hit Andaman

Port Blair, Nov 13 (UNI) Andaman and Nicobar Administration today issued a cyclone warning for the entire Islands.

In an official release, the authority said rain or thundershowers would take place with heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places and isolated extremely heavy falls are likely over the Islands during the next 24 hours.

Gale winds with speed of 70 to 80 Kmph are likely in the Islands and adjoining sea areas during the next 48 hours. Sea condition is high to very high around the system centre. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea during the next 48 hours, the release added.

According to the official communication the cyclonic storm SIDR over southeast Bay of Bengal moved northwestwards and lay centred at 1130 hrs (IST) today over southeast Bay of Bengal. The system is likely to intensify further and move in a northwesterly direction initially,the release said.
