BJP meet slams Centre for ''neglecting'' MP

Sagar, MP, Nov 13 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh BJP's Executive Committee meeting today unanimously passed a political resolution lauding the state government's achievements and alleging that the Centre's United Progressive Alliance regime neglected the state by placing several key schemes on the backburner.

The resolution was tabled by state General Secretary Bhupendra Singh and supported by senior leader Maya Singh and others. The party thanked Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for organising the recent Global Investors Summit, at Indore, that gave ''international recognition'' to Madhya Pradesh.

''The Centre is non-cooperative vis-a-vis power schemes, according central status to Sagar's Harisingh Gour University, citizenship for refugee Sindhi families and other issues. The country is sliding backwards courtesy erroneous policies of the UPA government that enhanced import of chemical fertiliser and reduced grants to agriculture,'' the resolution said.

Pointing out that farmers were committing suicide, the political document called for a sound agricultural policy.
