Woman commits suicide after poisoning two children

Ludhiana, Nov 12 (UNI) A woman allegedly committed suicide after administering poison to her two children in Ladowal village in this district, police said today .

According to Ladowal SHO Devinder Kumar, Paramjit Kaur, 37, apparently consumed poison after giving it to her 13-year-old daughter Lavpreet and five-year-old son Tarunveer last night.

While she was declared brought dead along with her daughter at Dayanand hospital here, her son Tarunveer, has been saved by the doctors, who said though still serious, the child had good chances of survival.

The bodies had been sent for post mortem, the SHO said.

The three were alone in the house at the time of the incident as Paramjit's husband, Sarbjeet Singh, had gone to work in a local factory.

According to police, preliminary investigations revealed that the family was facing financial crisis.
