Weeklong festivities for children from Nov 14

New Delhi, Nov 12 (UNI) National Child Awards for exceptional achievements would be presented to 36 children to mark the Children's Day on November 14.

The awards for year 2006 include one gold medal at the national level and 35 silver medals at the state level.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development is organising weeklong celebrations for children at Pragati Maidan from Bal Divas which would include cultural programmes and film shows for children.

On the occasion, Minister of State for Women and Child Development Renuka Chowdhury would also inaugurate the pavilion of the Ministry at the India International Trade Fair.

It would have about 90 stalls of Swayamsidha Women Self Help Groups from all states and Union Territories showcasing various household articles, decorative items, traditional and modern handicrafts and handloom articles.

The Pavilion will also provide stage performances by State Cultural Troops, which will include traditional dance, music, magic and puppet shows.
