Communists
today
assured
restoration
of
peace
in
Nandigram,
where
sporadic
incidents
of
violence
continue
between
party
activists
and
villagers
protesting
acquisition
of
their
lands.
The West Bengal government had planned to set up a SEZ for chemical industries in Nandigram, but had to abort the project as villagers protested against giving up their farmlands.
